Big Crane
I came across this large crane on my way to the zombie walk a week back. The photo doesn’t do it justice, as in person it seemed enormous.

Well it’s finally here, Halloween!!! Yay! Halloween is my favourite holiday but I’m always a bit sad afterwards, since from this point forward we start to really move from fall into those colder months. I do look forward to the U.S. Thanksgiving, they really know how to do it up right, but other than that it’s pretty much holiday free until Christmas. Anyway, this photo was taken on Kingston Rd. east of Victoria Pk. Ave. The owners of this house do it up for Halloween every years, then Christmas. They obviously enjoy the holiday and like entertaining the kiddies. Tonight I’ll sit outside in my driveway with my neighbours and talk politics and current events as we shell out to the kiddies. Should be fun. No photos, since it’ll be too dark and I don’t like flash photography (more like my camera can’t pull off flash photography).
Ever since I got addicted to the Food Network I’ve allowed my creative juices to flow in the kitchen. Mind you, most of the time I’m lazy, but at least once or twice a week I pump out something yummy for da tummy. Yesterday I made some brownies, but with the brownie mix rather than entirely homemade. I did stray from the package instructions by adding toasted walnuts. I’ve made this before, but with walnuts toasted with maple syrup, and let me tell you, yum, yum yum. This time I left out that step and although the end results are great, it’s missing that little extra summin-summin. Anyway, call me crazy but I had to take a photo of my handywork. This photo is for Kokot, of , since he’s a chef and often posts photos of his inspired kitchen creations.
My point & shoot struggles with macro photography, but I try anyway. This little lady bug was meandering along my kitchen counter looking a bit lost when she became the subject of this photograph. I added a zoom blur to the counter around her, and sharpened her a bit, and a slight crop, but that’s about it. Later I’m going to post a photo of the muffins I made last night. Exciting times.
Firstly, I seem to be attracted to old fashioned bicycles painted in funky old colours, and this one did not disappoint. But really it was the way it was suspended from the bike stand that made the scene interesting to me from a photographic standpoint. I wanted to catch the bike level and have the scene around it wildly skewed. I think it works. Hope you like it. Happy Friday, everyone.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference…

I was more interested in the shadows and light competing on this green door than the door itself. This photo is again from the Distillery District in the eastern end of downtown Toronto.
Yay – I have moved into the realm of ‘a bit more serious than before’ photographer! I have now got a new camera – Gotta love the Nikon! I am so ‘in love’ with it and the photos I can now take … Here is a few of my ‘practice’ shots … what do you think?

VW Trash Art - from the Whaingaroa 350 day in Raglan

This one is a shot of Whaingaroa’s very own “Flash Mob” that was organised to celebrate 350 day on Saturday 24 October 2009. There were lots of events held around the world on this day to raise the awareness of the 350 campaign. Check it out – it is an important issue that we ALL need to be aware of and do something about – after all – it is our future.
Recently it was my 40th birthday and a group of awesome friends all got together and treated me and my husband to a night out in a luxury 5 Star lodge (Waoku Lodge in Whale Bay, Raglan) It was the most luxuriously delightful place to stay. The hosts were amazing, the food was divine, the view was great and the decor was beautiful. Check this out …

I have to say, I’m really quite pleased with this photo. I’ve obviously tweaked the colours and contrast, but I think the effect work here. I came across this scene on my walk up Strauchan Ave. to the Toronto Zombie Walk last weekend. I thought the troubled sky in the background would make a good post for . Hope you like it.
