No Worries

Remember being this happy and carefree?  I do.  I love watching my children play and learn.  They’re impulsive and easily forgetful of the bad things in life.  On this day, they had a hard time with obedience…and yet, later we snuggled and laughed and moved on.  Anna got a “hole in one” on the last hole.  Immediately after putting her last putt, she was beaned in the head with one of those hard, spiky round balls (what are they called?) from a tree!  Ack!  We ended the game in tears.  All in all, it’s about learning and growing.  What a blessing to see it all unfold.

Don’t forget to change your camera’s clock

About photographyadmin09 March 2009

I’m sure most of you remembered to change your clocks this weekend. (If not, you’re probably going to be late to work—run, you fool, run!) But did you remember to change your most important clock? You know, the one in your camera.

On Saturday, Feb. 28, hip hop recording artist Vi shot the music video for his new hit single “Over Here” (which features Bradd Young) at Libertine on Sunset. Vi described the concept for this video as “the hottest, exclusive party in L.A.” These are the photos I took from behind the scenes.

Here’s how the 50 States Project works:

Photographers from each of the United States receive the same 6 assignments throughout the year. The results of each assignment represent both the photographer’s style and their state.

It makes us really think about where we’re from, which we don’t often do. We take it for granted because it’s always been there.

What would you show about your neck of the woods? Would it be what people assume it’s like, or how it really is?

Try some of the assignments yourself (”People” just finished and “Habitat” just started). We’d love to see what you come up with, whether you live in a state, a province, or a sovereign city-state. (We’re looking at you, Monaco.)

Dead Beautiful

Photo Artadmin05 March 2009

Carlos and I do a few things well, but gardening and landscaping is not one of them.  Usually, we do the least amount of work necessary so our yard doesn’t look abandoned.  Therefore, we have rosebushes which have gone unpruned since last summer.  We don’t really have weeds or trash laying around, we’re just a tad careless about the finer elements of horticulture.  I wish, wish, wish I had the gardener’s gene, which, I’m told, my grandmother possessed.  Anyway, I think, despite the deadness of this rose, it’s beautiful in it’s own way.
